Every job we do at The Life Home Services includes a complimentary gutter and roof inspection. It is not an upsell tactic, a bait-and-switch, or a sales call dressed up in different clothes. When we are already on a ladder or on your roof to clean gutters, install guards, repair a section, or replace a full system, we take the opportunity to look at everything we can see while we are up there and report back honestly. That includes photographs of anything on the roof or in the gutter run that you cannot see from the ground.

After more than 20 years working on Metro Atlanta homes, our founder Sebastian Martinez built this into every service for a simple reason: most of the expensive problems homeowners run into start as small problems that nobody noticed because nobody was looking. A loose flashing, a hairline split in a sealed seam, a couple of lifted shingles after a summer thunderstorm. None of those things are visible from your driveway. They are visible from our ladder.

What’s Included In The Complimentary Inspection

The inspection has two parts: the gutter system itself and the roof surface and penetrations that drain into it. We document what we find with photographs taken on-site and walk you through them before we leave.

Gutter System Inspection

  • Hanger condition, spacing, and fastener integrity (spike-and-ferrule, hidden hangers, screws)
  • Slope and pitch toward downspouts — standing water is the first symptom of a sagging run
  • Seam condition on sectional gutters and end caps on seamless runs
  • Fascia and soffit condition behind the gutter where rot typically starts
  • Downspout flow and any signs of internal clogging
  • Discharge — splash blocks, extensions, or underground drain tie-ins
  • Granule accumulation in the gutter (a useful indicator of roof wear)

Roof Inspection From The Ladder And Walkable Sections

  • Shingle condition — lifted, cracked, missing, or curling
  • Flashing around chimneys, skylights, vents, and roof-to-wall transitions
  • Pipe boots and rubber gaskets, which fail before the surrounding shingles do
  • Ridge cap and ridge vent condition
  • Visible storm damage — impact marks, lifted tabs, displaced ridge caps
  • Tree limbs in contact with the roof or hanging directly over gutter lines
  • Debris accumulation on the roof itself, especially in valleys and behind chimneys

Why We Photograph Everything You Can’t See From The Ground

Most homeowners have never seen their own roof. That is normal.

It is also exactly why so many roof and gutter problems go unnoticed until they show up as a stain on a ceiling or a soft spot in the fascia.

The photographs we take are not for our records — they are for yours. You get to see the actual condition of your gutters, your flashing, your shingles, and anything else we noticed, in the same detail we saw it.

If everything looks good, we tell you everything looks good and you have photographic proof of a system in sound condition.

What You Cant See From Below

If we spot something that needs attention, you have proof of that too, with our honest assessment of how urgent it is. We do not invent problems and we do not soften real ones.

Included With Every Service We Offer

The free inspection is standard on every service in our lineup. There is no add-on fee, no upgraded package, and no minimum job size required to get it. If we are out at your house, you are getting it.

  • Gutter Cleaning — the most common service we run, and the one where inspection findings come up most often. We are already moving along every foot of gutter and looking at the roof from the ladder.
  • Gutter Guards — before we install guards, we inspect the system underneath them. Putting micro mesh over a sagging or damaged gutter run is a waste of your money, so we tell you before we start.
  • Gutter Repair — a repair call is a natural inspection opportunity. We look at the whole system and the roof feeding into it, not just the problem you called us about.
  • Gutter Replacement — when we take old gutters down, we get a clear look at the fascia, drip edge, and the bottom course of shingles. That information goes into your report.
  • Gutter Installation — on new installations and first-time installs, we inspect the roof edge, flashing, and drainage plan before we hang a single piece of metal. Getting that right up front prevents a lot of future problems.

What This Looks Like In Practice

On a typical Marietta or Woodstock gutter cleaning, our technician finishes the cleaning, walks the roof or moves the ladder around the perimeter, and takes photos of anything worth flagging. Before we leave, we either show you the photos in person or send them with your invoice.

If we find nothing of concern, we tell you that plainly. If we find something — a backed-out flashing nail, a soft spot in the fascia, a sweet gum ball jam at the top of a downspout that is about to overflow during the next storm — you get the photo and a straight answer about what it means.

Honest Reporting, No High-Pressure Sales

Free Gutter Inspection

We are a small operation. Our reputation in Cobb, Cherokee, North Fulton, and Paulding counties is the only thing keeping us in business, and we are not going to burn it by inventing repair work.

If we say something needs to be addressed, it is because the photo on your phone shows that it does. If we say it can wait until next year, that is also the truth.

You are free to take our photos and findings to another contractor for a second opinion.

We would rather you do that than feel pressured.
